NYSE Group publishes daily short sale volume files on ftp.nyse.com for NYSE, NYSE Arca, NYSE American, NYSE Chicago, NYSE National and NYSE Texas, as .txt, .xls, .xml and .pdf. The pipe-delimited .txt has Date, Symbol, Short Exempt Volume, Short Volume, Total Volume and Market per symbol for trading on that one exchange.
Coverage
Per-exchange daily files under ShortData/<exchange>shvol/, with year folders (NYSEshvol from 2009) and a current/ folder of recent days (NYSEshvol20261102 to 20261104 on Nov 5, 2026). Each file covers trading on that NYSE Group exchange only, not consolidated short volume across all U.S. venues or FINRA trade reporting facilities. Short sale volume is not short interest.
Verdict
