MARAD MSCI U.S. Maritime Advisories
MARAD MSCI U.S. Maritime Advisories
The U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) MSCI Portal publishes U.S. Maritime Advisories and Alerts, with a table of Active Advisories (Title, Status, Effective Date, Expire Date) covering sea areas under elevated threat, such as the Red Sea/Bab el-Mandeb/Gulf of Aden/Arabian Sea/Somali Basin Houthi-attack advisory, the Persian Gulf/Strait of Hormuz/Gulf of Oman Iranian-attack advisory, the Black Sea and Sea of Azov combat-operations advisory, and Gulf of Guinea and Gulf of Aden piracy advisories. A filterable Cancelled Advisories list is also published, with history back to at least 2025 on the checked page.
Coverage
Worldwide maritime security threat areas; each advisory carries an effective and expiry date and is issued as events require rather than on a fixed schedule. Delay before publication and total history depth are not stated beyond the Cancelled Advisories list shown on the page.
Verdict
This is an official US government warning that a sea area — Red Sea, Hormuz, Black Sea, Gulf of Guinea — is dangerous for commercial ships, a war-risk/insurance and rerouting trigger worth tracking alongside UKMTO incident reports. No separate data licence is stated on the checked page; Signal Lab links to MARAD's page rather than copying advisories.
