DB-IP Lite databases
DB-IP Lite databases
Free DB-IP Lite country, city and ASN IP-range databases in CSV and MMDB formats, with country fields and, by edition, city, coordinates, autonomous-system number and organization. The monthly files download without an account or key.
Required Attribution:
For a web application: "<a href='https://db-ip.com'>IP Geolocation by DB-IP</a>"
Coverage
The Lite files cover IPv4 and IPv6 ranges worldwide and are updated monthly. The November 2026 Country Lite CSV has 732,796 ranges; City Lite has 7,777,816 ranges and is a reduced-coverage, reduced-accuracy subset of the paid database.
Verdict
A compact network-enrichment signal for assigning IP ranges to countries, approximate cities or autonomous systems in logs and event streams. Treat city coordinates as approximate and expect materially lower coverage and accuracy than the paid products. Monthly snapshots can lag IP allocation or routing changes between releases. CC BY 4.0 attribution is required, and web applications must link to DB-IP on pages that use or display results.

Limits
- Rate limit: Not stated.
- Lite downloads update monthly.
- Lite editions have fewer records and lower accuracy than commercial editions.
Quirks
- The CSV has no header row; assign column names when reading it.
- The range columns contain both IPv4 and IPv6 text, so keep them as strings.
- Use the dated URL shown on the provider download page and refresh it each month.
Terms and attribution
- The Lite databases are CC BY 4.0 and require attribution to DB-IP.com.
- A web application must link to DB-IP on pages that display or use the results.
