Banco de España Statistics API
Banco de España Statistics API
Banco de España JSON web service for the statistical series published on its Statistics site and in HERMES. Keyless URL requests return latest or ranged observations with series code, descriptions, frequency, units, metadata, coverage dates, timestamps and values.
Required Attribution:
Unprocessed: "Source: Banco de España website (www.bde.es)". Processed: "Source: Own elaboration based on data from the Banco de España website (www.bde.es)".
Coverage
Series can be daily, monthly, quarterly or annual and have individual start and end dates; the checked one-year Euribor series spans January 1999 through September 2026. Ranged calls support a calendar year or frequency-dependent windows, including MAX for monthly, quarterly and annual series; no request quota is stated.
Verdict
A Spanish and euro-area financial-condition signal for rates, credit, sector accounts and other central-bank statistics. Publication schedules and histories vary by series, and the JSON timestamps encode reference periods rather than necessarily observation instants. The provider can revise, interrupt, remove or restructure statistics and assigns them informational rather than legal or evidentiary value. Reuse requires source credit, preservation of meaning and metadata, and the original update date when available.

Limits
- Rate limit: Not stated.
- If time_range is omitted, the API returns the smallest default window for that series frequency.
- MAX is documented for monthly, quarterly and annual series; daily windows are 3M, 12M or 36M.
Quirks
- The fechas and valores arrays are parallel and the checked response is newest-first.
- Monthly, quarterly and annual timestamps represent reference periods using provider-defined dates, not publication instants.
- Series codes can contain # or %, which must be URL-encoded as %23 or %25.
